This week we had a meeting with Paul Turner https://www.linkedin.com/in/paul-turner-mba-0bb2aa133/ the community engagement manager for nucamp. https://www.nucamp.co/
We discussed potential ways that cavnessHR and nucamp could assist each other in the future. To include the possibility of setting up some sort of internship pipeline from nucamp to cavnessHR and cavnessHR providing some job search training.
As we talked about last week, we joined MBApierce https://www.mbapierce.com/ to learn more about the construction industry. To help out we volunteered to man their booth this Thursday from 4pm to 7pm at the Tacoma Home & Garden Show. https://www.otshows.com/shows/ths/
This event has hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of attendees each year. This will be a great way to learn about the construction industry and make some great connections.
We attended the BunkerLabs Seattle and We Work Veteran's in Residence breakfast.https://bunkerbrewsveteransinresidence.splashthat.com/ The Veterans in Residence program is a national effort in partnership with Bunker Labs and We Works. Whether you’re starting your next project and building a business or expanding your network and finding your next career, it offers the community and services you need to find your tribe and create your life’s work. Accepted applicants earn six months of fully sponsored workspace. Veterans and military spouses are eligible to apply. This was a great event and some great information was put out.

We had a great meeting with Gavin Thomas. https://www.linkedin.com/in/gavinthomas1192/ about cavnessHR and our vision for the company. Gavin is looking for a full-time position that will best use his skills. Until then he will be helping out with cavnessHR. Here is the link to his portfolio. https://gthomas.me If you believe Gavin will be an asset to your team, feel free to reach out to him.
We had a great meeting with Crystal Jones. https://www.linkedin.com/in/crystalmoniquejones/
Crystal has a BS in Computer Science and is looking to start her own company. To gain some startup experience and to have us help to build up her network. She is going to help out with cavnessHR while she builds the foundation for her future business.
With the addition of Gavin and Crystal and the three students from Green River College and the guidance and mentorship of our CTO, Jeff. We believe we will be able to build out the tech for cavnessHR and have a working MVP sooner than later. We will then test this MVP on the construction companies that we are able to target market.
As you know we have been going after tech talent for about a year and a half. It has been something we have invested a lot of time and energy. We have had discussions with numerous people. Telling them about our vision for cavnessHR and learning about them. To have six great developers is very exciting for us.
As a founder, you have your up and down weeks. This is without a doubt one of the up weeks.
We continue to push out the cavnesHR podcast and make great relationships while doing this.
We currently have 2749 downloads/listens for the cavnessHR podcast.
