This was a much slower week for cavnessHR due to the Thanksgiving holiday and everything that is involved with that. Here at cavnessHR, we hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.
We continue to push out the cavnessHR podcast on a weekly basis. This continues to be a lot of fun. (except for the editing) We continue to talk to great people and they are providing lots of value. So far we have 1800 downloads and/or views of the cavnessHR podcast. We believe this is helping us build some great relationships for cavnessHR.
We continue to do our best to meet one new person each week. Then, also to meet one new potential member for the cavnessHR team. We realize with the holidays coming up. This is might be hard to do.
We listened to Mark Suster's Snapstorms http://snapstorms.com/ Mark gives great advice on everything from sales, to hiring, to how to structure your pitch deck.
We came up with a general cavnessHR roadmap for the next year. This will provide something for us to use as we begin the next year in the growth of cavnessHR.
During the Thanksgiving week, we refined the following products.
Sales projections
Executive summary
Employee costs
Business plan
Along with reviewing our financial reports.
For the next month, we are going to focus on the following items.
Choose an industry to target for customer acquisition.
Continue to work with our first customer.
Continue to refine our HR products.
Building out our marketing/sales/Business Development.
Prepping content for various Social Media Platform - For example, we currently push out this weekly blog on the progress of cavnessHR. We need to start pushing out a blog talking about HR.
We also want to start posting Snapstorms like Mark Suster and pushing out content using YouTube.
For Social Media, we know most people will tell you to choose a few and stick with those. Here at cavnessHR, we plan on pushing content on as many platforms as possible. Then do an analysis to see which one we should use. We think an argument could be made either way for using more or less of the Social Media platforms.
For example, most people would probably say Instagram would not make sense for cavnessHR. But we could use an image of something HR related, like ensuring employees are paid correctly. Then put in a link back to a blog post that talks about benchmarking compensation. Then talk about how paying your employees correctly can help with recruiting and retaining employees.
I know some people will look at our areas of focus and ask why building out the tech is not included. Our CTO is currently in the middle of a cross-country move from the East Coast to the San Francisco area. So things will be at a standstill on the tech side until he and his family are settled. Both at home and at his new position in San Francisco.
We will also look at the below tools to see which ones, if any, will be a good tools to use to help build cavnessHR. Have you used any of these tools? If so, we would love your feedback.

Since Founder University is Dec 4-5 and we have not heard anything. We are going to presume that we were not accepted.
One change we have noticed is that more people are reaching out to us now. Where before it was always us reaching out to people.
We usually don't post videos over 4 minutes. But this video is a great example of the drive, focus, motivation, and passion we all should strive for while going after our goals. But also in our everyday life.
