Exciting News
We have a big announcement at cavnessHR this week. We would like to officially and publicly announce the cavnessHR Board of Advisors.
They are as follows:
Todd Dean - https://www.linkedin.com/in/mtodddean/
Kevin Goldsmith - https://www.linkedin.com/in/goldsmith/
Dr. D. Anthony Miles - https://www.linkedin.com/in/danthonymiles/
Matt Burns - https://www.linkedin.com/in/matt-d-burns/
This is a huge step for cavnessHR as we continue to build our company.
Each Board member has the background, knowledge, skills and connections that will be a great asset to cavnessHR. We look forward to utilizing their advice. We also want to take this time to thank each of them for helping to build cavnessHR.
Sales, Stats, and Selection
This was another week of building cavnessHR. Of course some weeks it goes much slower than we would like. We took a couple of webinars from Close.io This is the platform we are using to set up our sales. The more we learn about the platform the more we will be able to use it.
We have one of our interns working on a competitive analysis for cavnessHR. For now, we have the intern just doing a competitive analysis for one of our competitors. Then after taking a look at this one and making changes. We will do a competitive analysis on a total of 10 competitors. The challenge will be selecting which ten. As cavnessHR has around 7200 competitors.
New Team Members and Recruitment
We had a great meeting with a possible UX/UI person. Next, the person will talk to our CTO, Jeff McCoy. Just so everyone knows, this is how we have been working the hiring on the tech side. Usually, I find someone I want to talk to about cavnessHR. They might have the skills we need or I might have met them at a networking event or I find them some other way.
When I talk to them about cavnessHR, I have a recruiting deck I use. It has our values, the problem we want to solve and the solution among a few items. I am also transparent about us being a pre-seed startup and that we have no funds to pay at this time. I also let them know that even though, they will have equity in cavnessHR. That having equity in a startup is the same as being told that the pot of gold and the end of the rainbow is yours.
I also talk about how cavnessHR came about and the background with that. I then ask them some other questions and let them ask me questions. After this, if they are still interested in joining the cavnessHR team. I set them up with a call with our CTO, Jeff McCoy. Since Jeff is in San Jose, Ca, I also ask how they feel about remote work and the CTO not being in the same location as them.
As usual, we spent time networking and meeting new people and telling them about cavnessHR. We do our best to talk to one new person each day about cavnessHR. Sometimes we meet this goal, sometimes we don't meet this goal.
We continue to work with our two existing customers and learn a great deal from them on how to improve cavnessHR.
