The last 7 days started off pretty frustrating, because of some tech challenges. Which I go into below. But it ended with great momentum and I will cover that as well.
We figured out why I was not receiving emails to my jasoncavness@cavnessHR.com email. However, now our emails for our HR laws from our website are no longer being sent for some reason. When they were being sent out before, 70% of them were going to spam folders.
Obviously, that is not a good thing for us.
We also need to figure out why when we attempt to send out emails using our campaign manager. It is saying that our domain is not authenticated. I am pretty sure our domain is authenticated. So something else for us to figure out. We also have some other challenges on the tech side to work through.
I had a great meeting with a CTO from a Seattle startup. We talked about how to recognize great dev talent. Also the disconnect between new devs looking for work and the companies looking to hire them. We talked about what is the right amount of equity to offer a CTO based on when they join. Also how this should be based on other criteria as well. I learned a lot. The best thing is he offered to connect with the cavnessHR devs and provide them some guidance on tech challenges.
We have a possible meeting with Trilogy Equity Partners on August 10 at Startup Hall.
http://www.trilogyequity.com/
This possible meeting is being arranged by BunkerLabs Seattle. https://bunkerlabs.org/seattle/
From what I understand Trilogy is interested in meeting with early stage businesses to discuss their ideas.
Not sure if cavnessHR will be selected for a meeting. But just in case, I started working on a pitch deck for the meeting. That way I have something to reference. I know there are thousands of pitch deck examples and thousands of people giving pitch deck advice. But I went with a format that I think will best tell the story of cavnessHR.
As part of the cavnessHR sales funnel. We provide a two-pager that describes all the HR laws companies must follow based on number of employees. We took this and put together a presentation that we can use to present to various networking groups in the future. We plan on doing more HR educational items like this in the future. As a way to show how HR is a value add.
Our prep for The cavnessHR podcast is coming along nicely. I did a couple of practices sessions where I ran through the process from beginning to end. We have about 45 people who have expressed interest. We have sent invites out to the first 20 and the plan is to start interviewing on August 20. With the middle of September being the target to start posting them on the various platforms. We believe this will be a great marketing tool for cavnessHR and for our guests. We know it will bring lots of value to our listeners.
As of this blog posting, 10 guests have confirmed their interview dates/times with us.
If you are a small business owner, founder or in the tech, startup or HR spaces and would be interested in being on The cavnessHR podcast. Send an email to jasoncavness@cavnessHR.com
