This week was not as hectic as the last one. But we still managed to make some good progress.
We viewed a Typeform seminar. https://www.typeform.com/ Typeform is the program we use to come up with surveys for various uses.
We helped out at the 2018 STEM Expo at TAF. http://techaccess.org/academy/ TAF does a STEM Expo every year and this is the first phase of the 2018 STEM Expo. We spent time in one of the TAF classrooms and talked to 75 students throughout the day. We listened to their ideas and for those students who had no ideas. We did our best to help them come up with some for the Expo. This was a very enjoyable experience for us.They still need lots of judges for their STEM Expo. So if you are interested in helping out just reach out to them.
We had a great meeting with Nicole from RISE https://www.pugetsound.edu/academics/experiential/for-students/featured-programs/rise/ at the University of Puget Sound. https://www.pugetsound.edu/ She went over the requirements for using RISE and how to submit for RISE participants to work as interns at cavnessHR. We filled out the application and now are just waiting for the next steps. If approved we will have a RISE student working with us during the summer.
We attended a great Women in Tech Roundtable put together by Lee Reeves https://www.linkedin.com/in/leereevesseattle/ of Startup253 https://startup253.com/ It was a great discussion on all items involving Women in Tech in the Tacoma area. We talked to a few women about cavnessHR and what role they could play with cavnessHR in the future.
We had a great meeting with Stephanie Prosser of Prosser construction. Stephanie is the CEO of Prosser Construction https://www.facebook.com/prosserconstruction22/ and she is building a great company. We had a great conversation about HR and what construction companies like hers need from HR. One important take away from our meeting is that even though our price list is less than pretty much all HR Outsourcing companies. It may still be too high for small businesses. Especially, ones just starting out. We will continue to talk to small business owners to figure out the right pricing strategy for cavnessHR.
We received a reference from someone we connected to last year to help out a non-profit in Seattle with their HR. The non-profit currently receives their HR from another company in the organization. But the non-profit is breaking off on their own now and my connection wants to make sure their HR is still being handled. We look forward to seeing if cavnessHR is a good fit for them.
We had our weekly meeting with Business Impact Northwest. https://businessimpactnw.org/
We continue to work with them on delivering HR that will add value to their organization. We continue to learn some great lessons from working with BINW.
For the cavnessHR podcast. We have our interviews lined up for February and March. Since we are only doing around 4 a month now. This will give us some predictability in our schedule.
