After missing last week with illness. I tried my best to get caught up as best as I could.
One of the pieces of advice we received at Seattle Startup Week was to target one specific industry for cavnessHR at first. We are currently figuring out which industry would be the best to target.
We still have the 28 Tacoma area businesses that we previously selected to target. We still need to make personalized videos for each business. The plan is to send each an email with a personalized video specific to that business.
We started working with our first client and we are learnings a lot from this experience. We will have some lessons learned to take back and improve cavnessHR. There have already been some items that have come up that we need to relook.
We went over our books using ZohoBooks. That way we keep ourselves up to date on the money we have spent building up cavnessHR. I think doing this helps to keep us fiscally responsible.
We relooked our business plan, pitch deck, employee costs projections and sales projections. All need work and are just a best guess for now. I am thinking as cavnessHR grows we will need an advisor or someone in a mentor role to assist with these items.
We filled out the paperwork for students at Pacific Lutheran University and University of Washington - Tacoma to apply for internship positions with cavnessHR. Right now these would be unpaid internships. But the intent is to change these to paid internships sooner than later.
We spent some time going over the lessons in the advanced marketing course we took last year. We have made it to module 25 out of the 45 module lesson plan. Since this is the second time going though the course. The lessons are making more sense now. As stated in a previous blog. To take cavnessHR where we want to take it. We are going to need an aggressive marketing plan.
It was that time of the quarter again. Time to file our Business and Occupation taxes or B&O Taxes.
I am glad the city of DuPont sends an email reminder. As I doubt I would remember this on my own.
For the cavnessHR podcast. We have released 14 episodes and they have been downloaded 868 times on iTunes, SoundCloud and Stitcher. They have been viewed 234 times on YouTube. We believe that in the long run these podcasts are going to pay big dividends for cavnessHR.
