For this week's update, it has occurred to me that I have not announced the people who have joined the cavnessHR team in one capacity or another. These people have agreed to help build cavnessHR. But they do have full time jobs and I realize that for now that has to be their priority.
First is Jeff McCoy who will fill the role of CTO for cavnessHR. Jeff brings the experience and skills we need to develop our product to its full potential. As one of the leading Software Developers in the U.S. Air Force. Jeff was chosen to lead a new Air Force Central Command software development organization in the heart of Silicon Valley.
Next is Albert Taylor. Albert has a Ph.D in Neurobiology from the University of Chicago. Albert has previous experience in a startup that went from pre-revenue when he joined. To producing over 1.5m in combined revenue and venture investment in the second year.
Albert's experience spans project management, technology transfer, business development and Data Science. Albert also has strong prior experience in B2B outside sales. Albert has the ability to bridge the gap between technical knowledge, research skills and interpersonal communication. Albert has a strong skill set that includes customer-facing capabilities.
The final person of the cavnessHR team is Kaitlyn Kelley. Kaitlyn has a degree in Aerospace Engineering from Worchester Polytechnic Institute. Kaitlyn has experience in two early stage startups. Kaitlyn brings a vast array of skills to the cavnessHR team. Kaitlyn has worn many hats in her previous startup experiences. Kaitlyn will bring this vast set of skills to cavnessHR and help to build our company.
For what we actually did this week. We attended the Elevate 2017 Virtual Conference. https://www.bamboohr.com/elevate This is an annual conference hosted by BambooHR. https://www.bamboohr.com That provided numerous sessions on numerous topics for professional development for HR and other professionals. BambooHR is one of our HR Partners.
Last blog we talked about the possibility of taking on a recruiting role for Mary's Place. Well, we did not get that role. Mary's Place decided to bring on an interim HR Director until their current one can come back to work. Although, we are disappointed we did not receive the role. Mary's Place bringing on an interim HR Director is probably the best thing for that organization.
We continue to complete the Advanced Marketing Course that we are taking for the second time. We have a few of the modules left to do. This time we took notes on the material and we currently have 25 pages of notes. This is going to be very useful to cavnessHR.
We finally made a decision on which digital signature company to use. We are going with HelloSign over Sign Now. Sign Now has some great features and is a great option. But for what we need to do for our clients. HelloSign was clearly the better option for cavnessHR at this time.
For the 19 companies we sent individual YouTube videos to last week. None of the companies opened the emails. So we will have to come up with another email to send to them. In the Advanced Marketing Course it says that it takes from 15 to 20 touches before someone is comfortable enough with you to buy your product. So we just have to remember to be patient.
We received an email from Techstars Seattle saying they are still in the process of reviewing applications. They had expected to be done by now. But they are extending their review of all applications and expect to be completed by next week and that they will continue sending interview invitations. Not sure what this exactly means. But I am going to read it as they had some great companies apply and they are having a hard time on which 10 companies to select.
For the cavnessHR podcast we now have 1057 downloads and 270 YouTube views. We are making some great contacts for cavnessHR using this method.
