Pitching & The Big Apple
We spent time prepping for the 2018 New York Venture Summit from July 10 to 11.
We did our research on the VCs scheduled to attend. Of the 150 scheduled to attend. Only nine meet the criteria of possibly being interested in having a conversation about cavnessHR. We used such things such as - what is there focus at their VC firm and what stage do they invest in among a few of the criteria we used. We sent some type of messages to these nine individuals and will continue to follow up with them.
We attended the Startup253 and Bunker Labs Seattle event. This was a pitch competition that brought together entrepreneurs from the Tacoma, WA area and the local Veteran's community. We also took our interns to this event. That way they could network with some more people and make some more connections.
We continue to work on and refine our pitch deck. We will need many versions of our pitch deck. But for now, we need a foundational pitch deck done. Then we can use that to build any other pitch decks that we might need in the future.
New Ideas and Changes
We are taking yet another look at our pricing module. This time mainly because we have an actual competitor doing exactly what we want to do with cavnessHR.
One of the cavnessHR interns is redoing the cavnessHR Instagram. He has some pretty good ideas. We are excited to see what he comes up with for us. As we said before, we have been very happy with our interns.
As we talked about a few blog posts ago. We have to find a new way to provide salary and compensation benchmarking. As the company we currently use, will not provide us access to their API. We previously found 20 companies who we thought did the same things. After some research, only 7 of them actually do what we need to be done to provide salary and compensation benchmarking for our customers. We sent these 7 companies messages telling them what we want to do and asking if they provide their API.
We also continue to learn how to use our new sales platform, Close.io It is a very detailed platform and will take some time to learn everything it offers. But once we learn everything, it is going to save us so much time during our sales process.
